End of 2017: What Does this Mean Regarding Solar?
As we’ve mentioned before, there are many incentives and rebates offered to those who wish to install solar panels either at their residence or at their place of business. Customers rely on these incentives and/or rebates as they help reduce the cost of going solar. However, most rebate programs work on a first come, first serve basis. So what does this mean for you and your home or business?
At the beginning of each year, budgets for rebates and incentives are restarted. What this means is that there is more money to give out in the first half of the year rather than the second half. As the year progresses and funds begin to deplete, so do the chances of receiving money from your electric provider. Funds have run out faster and faster each year due to the increase in the popularity in solar energy. That being said, the sooner you purchase and get your panels installed, the less costly your out of pocket costs will be. As far as 2017 is concerned, some energy providers are almost, if not completely, out of funds.
There is some good news regarding this as it’s still not too late to install solar panels and cut your costs for the rest of the year. The worst thing that could happen is that your provider is low on funds. If that’s the case, we’ll tell you to wait until the start of 2018 just so you have more power to save money. Either way, we’re on your side for cost AND energy efficiency.
